GIPC showcases Ghana as key investment hub at Global Trade Forum -

The Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC), Simon Madjie, has showcased Ghana as a strategic investment hub for West Africa and the broader African market at the 56th World Trade Center Association Global Business Forum in Philadelphia, United States.

The high-level forum convened policymakers, investors, and business leaders from over 90 countries, including officials from the United States Department of State, Philadelphia Mayor Cherelle Parker, the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to the United States Xie Feng, and executives of the World Trade Centers Association.

Addressing a panel on investment gateways, workforce development, and cross-border collaboration, Madjie highlighted Ghana’s strengthened trade and investment frameworks as central to its appeal to global investors.

He cited key agreements and trade platforms, including the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), the African Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA), ECOWAS protocols, and Ghana’s trade partnerships with the European Union and the United Kingdom, noting that they collectively enhance market access and investor confidence.

Madjie also pointed to expanding Ghana–United States economic relations, with emerging opportunities in agribusiness, energy, pharmaceuticals, electric vehicle manufacturing, and the digital economy.

A major highlight of the forum was the announcement of the passage of the Ghana Investment Promotion Authority (GIPA) Bill, 2026, which introduces reforms aimed at improving the ease of doing business and strengthening investor confidence.

Ghana stood out as the only African country to present a dedicated investment pitch at the forum, reinforcing its positioning as a competitive destination for foreign direct investment on the global stage.
